The company has received a $50 million, five-year unsecured revolving credit facility – that can be increased up to $75 million – from Bank of America that Gevity will use for general corporate purposes, including share buybacks. Yesterday, the company also announced a 9-cent quarterly dividend, payable Oct. 31 to shareholders of record as of Oct. 16.

Balancing Income Needs with Estate-Planning Goals

I have previously reviewed estate planning tools and techniques to assist you in meeting your estate planning goals. Any dreams you have of leaving a financial legacy for your children will also affect the retirement planning decisions you make. Money left in an IRA, for example, could bring greater tax consequences for your children than money in taxable accounts. In another scenario, some retirees may find they could use their IRAs to create a legacy spanning several generations of their family, using a technique called the “Stretch IRA.” If you have substantial assets in an IRA and don’t need to tap the entire amount to meet your living expenses, you may be a candidate for this technique.
